F\u00f6reningen V\u00e4stmanlands-Dala nations v\u00e4nner, informally V-Dala V\u00e4nner, was originally F\u00f6reningen V\u00e4stmanl\u00e4nningar och Dalkarlar (the Association Westmen and Dalecarlians), FVDK, which was founded on May 1st, 1955. It was decided that the name be changed at a general meeting on May 1st 2007. Apart from the name, the bylaws remain the same. \u00a0Key concepts are \u00a0\u201cpreserving and strengthening the members\u2019 feelings of fellowship with one another and with \u00a0the active students of V\u00e4stmanlands-Dala Nation\u201d \u00a0att \u201dto be the members\u2019 point of contact with the nation in matters which have to do with them\u201d and further to \u201cbenefit the nation in other matters.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eligible for membership are all honorary members, anyone who has been a member for at least five semesters, and others decided by the board of V-Dala V\u00e4nner. At present, this association counts around 350 people among its ranks. Membership is 75 SEK\/annum. Become a member by depositing the membership fee to the association\u2019s postgiro account 41 38 41-8. As a member, you will receive a registry with information about the members and the Nation\u2019s magazine, Landskapsposten twice yearly.<\/p>\n
General meetings are held every other year, normally May 1st, and consequently every four years in conjuncture with the Senior Members’ Meeting. Every semester, the association hosts various functions and gathers present and past members of the nation to, among other things, May dinner, Autumn feast, balls or gasks.
